What software is available for my Artwork Inventory System?
There are several software platforms available for managing an art collecting inventory system. These are for artists and art collectors. Here are some popular options:
Artwork Archive: (My personal favourite) This platform provides comprehensive inventory management features, including artwork tracking, cataloguing, condition reports, and documentation. It also offers tools for sales, exhibitions, and consignment management.
Artwork Archive has three pricing levels and is very affordable. It is focused on artists, collectors and galleries depending upon your needs. Hit that FEATURES drop-down right at the top and choose COLLECTORS. Or scroll all the way down to the bottom of the pricing page and you will see a section for Collectors & Organisations. The features will be more than adequate for most art collectors, and I believe it is the best place to start for beginner collectors. There are video tutorials, help docs and guides. It also has an informative blog so you can read up on how to put the software to best use and stay abreast of happenings in the art world.
Art Galleria: Designed specifically for art collectors and galleries, Art Galleria offers inventory management, digital cataloguing, valuation, and sales tools. It also includes features for exhibition management, art portfolio creation, and consignment tracking.
Art Galleria has three pricing levels and is more expensive than Artwork Archive.
Artlogic: Artlogic provides a comprehensive suite of tools for art collection management. It offers inventory tracking, cataloguing, documentation, valuation, exhibition management, sales, and client relationship management features. It also integrates with other systems such as accounting and finance software.
Artlogic has some excellent sales features, seems to be more focused on artists, and is quite expensive.
Art Systems: Art Systems is a software platform that offers inventory management, cataloguing, valuation, and consignment tracking features. It also includes tools for financial management, reporting, and gallery management.
Artsystems has great solutions for Collectors, but pricing is not available on the website. You have to contact them for a price.
ArtBinder: ArtBinder is a cloud-based platform designed for art inventory management. It allows collectors to track and organise their art collection, create digital catalogues, and manage exhibitions and sales. It also offers a mobile app for on-the-go access to the inventory.
ArtBinder has two levels of entry. It is a medium price software.
ArtCloud: ArtCloud is an art management platform that includes inventory tracking, cataloguing, sales, and client management features. It also offers online storefront capabilities, allowing collectors to sell their artworks directly through the platform.
ArtCloud looks to be more about artists, but it possibly could be adapted for Collectors who are interesting in selling their pieces on a fairly regular basis.
The above are just a few examples of software platforms available (as of 2023) for art collection inventory management. It's important to assess your specific needs and requirements and explore the features, pricing, and user reviews of each platform to determine the best fit for your collection. If in doubt, email or message the people behind the websites.
