About the Artist

Carol Walden Arts

Art, books, articles...

An artist and writer at heart, Carol has spent a lifetime exploring creativity through multiple disciplines. With 25 years of professional writing experience spanning arts journalism and natural living, she has recently embarked on her most exciting creative venture yet - becoming a published author with aspirations to both write and illustrate her own books.

Carol's artistic journey is deeply rooted in her extraordinary heritage. Descended from Scottish maternal ancestors and a paternal line of French traveling circus performers who lived nomadically across the Asia-Pacific region in horse-drawn wagons and ships, she carries forward this legacy of artistic expression and unconventional living. This rich cultural tapestry continues to inform her work and worldview.

A lifelong student of mythology, Carol creates contemporary mythic art that often incorporates Celtic influences, exploring how ancient stories shape our modern lives and relationships. Her three decades as a professional artist include portrait commissions, murals in her hometown, and the creation of a multicultural art gallery where she both curated exhibitions and showcased her own work. Recently, she's found new creative fulfillment in natural history illustration.

After earning her Bachelor of Writing & Publishing with a Journalism major in 2016, Carol fully immersed herself in the written word. Now you'll most often find her at her laptop, where writing has become second nature. Whether through art or writing, her mission remains constant: to share the joy she's found in philosophy and creative expression with others.

"I sincerely hope my work and journey inspire positive evolution in your life and thinking," Carol reflects on her multifaceted career. From canvas to manuscript, she continues to weave together her passions for art, storytelling, and natural living into a cohesive creative practice.
